Landers-Loomis Field, Oregon High School, Oregon, IL
The Lee County Council on Aging and Kreider Alliance are teaming up with Drum Corps International for another evening of Petunia City Brass on August 2nd at Landers-Loomis Field of Oregon High School (Oregon, Illinois). This year’s event was moved up the Rock River because of planned field work to A.C. Bowers Field at Dixon High School. Petunia City Brass will return to its Dixon home in 2018 for another wonderful evening of drum and bugle along the Rock River.
This year’s event will highlight eight Drum Corp International Open Class Corps (DCI)with the proceeds raised going to support both Lee County Council on Aging and Kreider Alliance. These 501(c)3 organizations see Petunia City Brass as an opportunity to bring a great quality drum and bugle corps show to Dixon, building on the success of last year.
HISTORY OF DIXON AND DRUM CORPS. In addition to being the boyhood home of President Ronald Reagan, Dixon, IL has a rich history of drum and bugle corps shows, dating back to the late 1960’s when they were a feature of the Dixon Petunia Festival. This is the third year for Petunia City Brass.
